Water has no calories, but it may be our most important nutrient of all because it is an essential part of all of the chemical reactions that give you life. It doesn’t give you fuel. But those two hydrogen molecules paired with one oxygen molecule play some amazing roles in your health. Water helps to regulate body temperature by acting as a coolant for your internal system. It transports nutrients to your cells. It whisks away waste products. Without water, you couldn’t turn those carbs, proteins, and fats into the usable energy that powers every breath.
