Potassium is an electrolyte, which conducts electrical impulses throughout the body. Potassium assists in a range of essential body functions, including:

  1. blood pressure
  2. normal water balance

Why take potassium:

  • Potassium helps maintain several bodily functions
    • Muscles need it to contract
    • Heart muscle needs it to beat properly and regulate blood pressure
    • The Kidney is the main organ that controls the balance of potassium

Some types of cooking (boiling) can actually destroy the potassium in foods.
